Marija Gošović was born in Podgorica. She graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić, Study Program in Psychology.

She began her professional career at the “Slobodan Škerović” Gymnasium, where she worked for eleven years as a school psychologist. During her engagement in this institution, she worked as the coordinator of the Student Parliament (since the 2016/17 school year), a member of the Team for Organizing School Competitions (since 2015/16), deputy coordinator for the implementation of final exams (since 2015/16), a member of the Team for the Protection of Students from Violence (since 2016/17), as well as a member of the School Self-Evaluation Team.

During this period, she attended numerous national and international seminars, among which the most notable are: “Application of the Digital School Concept”, “Andragogical Training of Staff Working in Adult Education”, and “Crisis Situations and Psychological Crisis Interventions in Educational Institutions”.

Since 2023, she has been employed at the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, where she first served as Director General of the Directorate for Gymnasium and Vocational Education, and later as Director General of the Directorate for Higher Education. Within her role at the Ministry, she took part in drafting key strategic documents for the development of education in Montenegro, most notably the Education Reform Strategy 2025–2035 with its accompanying Action Plan.
