Initiated by the European Commission, DG REGIO, this workshop is a part of the Programme of exchanges in the EU Outermost Regions project that has been launched in December 2021. The objective of the project is to provide evidence-based analysis of existing initiatives in the outermost regions on climate adaptation, organise workshops of exchanges of good practices and solutions and based on this to provide a compendium of good practices and solutions of climate change adaptation.
This third online workshop will aim to create exchanges of good practices and solutions to protect and preserve biodiversity from the impacts of climate change in the Macaronesia territories. It will be an opportunity for them to discuss challenges and find new solutions through lessons learned.
The presentations and discussions will be framed around the following considerations: relevance of the initiatives, tangible results, innovative approaches in relation to the process and/or results achieved, and the potential for transferability and replicability of successes in the wider sea basin and beyond.
This event will take place online on 22 March 2023 and will take into consideration the different time zones of the concerned regions:
09:00-11:30 - Azores
10:00-12:30 – Canary Islands, Madeira
11:00-13:30 - CEST
Interpretation will be provided in Spanish, Portuguese and English during the event.
We look forward to welcoming you to this event!
