The Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (REGIO), in partnership with the Presidency of the Steering Committee of the Conference of Presidents of the Outermost Regions is organising a final event to complete the programme of exchanges in the EU outermost regions and their neighbouring countries on climate change adaptation which was launched in December 2021.
This final event will consolidate, present and discuss almost two years of research and analyses of initiatives, good practices and solutions on climate change adaptation identified across all geographical basins. It will be an opportunity to reflect on the project key activities, findings and exchanges fostered between key actors and stakeholders during the nine virtual workshops organised in the Macaronesia, Caribbean-Amazonia and Southwest Indian Ocean basins. Participants will be able to discover and get inspired from successful good practices and lessons learnt across all basins. On top of this, it is intended that there will be meaningful exchanges on key common challenges, differences and collective ways forward.
This concluding event will take place on 13th of June 2023 from 9:15 to 17:00 GMT+1 at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and will be in a hybrid format, allowing participants to physically or virtually attend the event. Taking place in the Canary Islands, the region holding the presidency of the Conference of the Outermost Regions presidents, this closing event will also offer valuable networking and collaboration opportunities for members of OR working groups, Member States, technical experts and third country representatives through a networking lunch and a site visit to the Instituto Tecnologico de Canarias in Pozo Izquierdo.
Interpretation will be provided in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French during the event.
Please submit your virtual registration before 12th of June 2023
