About the European Video Games Society
Launched by the European Commission, the EVGS aims to develop a thorough understanding of the video games sector in the EU and its impact on a range of policy areas (such as economic, educational, social, cultural, and financial), and nurture a network of actors and experts to facilitate collaboration and dialogue between the industry and the public sector.
About this workshop
This workshop will look at the key challenges faced by the video games sector in terms of the enforcement of the regulatory framework in the industry and discuss the scope and scale of these issues, as well as the extent to which various segments of the industry are affected. It will focus specifically on IP protection, the various solutions developed by video games companies and the regulatory initiatives undertaken across Europe. Together with workshop participants, we will also exchange ideas on the possibilities for new actions at EU level.
Why should you participate?
The workshop will bring together a network of experts, thinkers and leaders of key sectors and influence groups from various sectors and value chains, with the objective of gathering their opinions and views on regulatory issues. These insights will be used to inform policymakers in developing a European agenda for video games. Since this workshop will focus on actual IP enforcement issues across the video games industry, we particularly encourage VG industry representatives and especially general counsels/legal advisors, specialised law firms and academics, and policymakers focusing on IP issues to join.
