EU’s outermost regions can benefit from many new opportunities for support under EU policies to help them shape, implement and fund their tailored regional development strategies. The permanent constrains faced by outermost regions and their specificities is recognised in Article 349 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, which provides for specific measures to support the outermost regions, including specific provisions applicable to outermost regions in EU competitive programmes. In its renewed Strategy for the EU’s outermost regions, the European Commission committed to support their capacity to participate in EU competitive programmes. In this context, the European Commission is organising a series of 7 virtual workshops to provide tailored information on the opportunities and specific provisions for the outermost regions under various EU programmes  [1].

The Single Market Programme will be presented to EU outermost regions in an online workshop taking place on 08 February 2024 from 14:00 to 17:00 CET.

The Single Market Programme (SMP) is the EU funding programme to help the single market reach its full potential and support in particular Small and Medium Sized enterprises in benefitting from the Single Market. It provides an integrated package to support and strengthen the governance of the single market. The programme also seeks to support addressing the specific needs of outermost regions and their integration in the internal market.

This workshop will focus on:

  • presenting the Single Market Programme and its specific opportunities for the EU Outermost Regions
  • providing recommendations on application procedures
  • sharing experiences from past beneficiaries
  • dedicating time for questions and answers

We look forward to welcoming you to this event!

Please submit your registration before 7 February 2024.

[1] The workshops will focus on the following EU competitive programs: Connecting Europe Facility (CEF); Digital Europe Programme; Environment and Climate Action Programme (LIFE); Erasmus+; Horizon Europe; Creative Europe Programme; Single Market Programme.
